As a child, I started my journey in classical dance with Kuchipudi and Kathak, but I truly fell in love with Odissi – an Indian classical dance form, from the state of Odisha. I started learning Odissi from Smt. Anuradha Krishnan at the age of 8 and then I moved to my current teacher – Padmashree Guru Kiran Segal. Under her tutelage, I have had the privilege to perform at several dance festivals across India. I have also accompanied her to lecture-demonstrations that she has conducted for SPIC MACAY and the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, under India’s Ministry of Culture.

During my time in LSR, I lived in Nrityagram for a month. Nrityagram is a village dedicated to dance, in a small town called Hesaraghatta, in India’s southern state of Karnataka.

Along with Odissi, you can find me hooping to all kinds of music. I find it relaxing and fun, and I enjoy learning new tricks every now and then. In general, I love to dance. Most often I am jamming to songs with awkward movements.
